MRC Hydraulic Ram Pump. This stainless steel, drinking water safe, off-grid water pump is a culmination of all of my design trials, errors and passion for the past 3 years straight. The MRC Ram Pump is supplied with 3 interchangeable waste valves (1/2”, 3/4”, 1”) making it the only one size fits all Ram pump on the market. This pump requires a minimum 2 gallon per minute, constant, free-flowing water from a natural water source, (spring, creek, lake, or pond) to perpetually cycle and operate the pump. The free-flowing falling water piped down a minimum 3ft elevation drop into the pump is what created the head pressure to allow the ram pump to cycle. The formula to determine how high you can pump water up the mountain is as follows. 1ft of drop is equal to 7ft of lift. My personal (identical) ram pump is pumping water through 600 linear feet of 1/2” line, up roughly 100ft in elevation rise to fill a 2k gallon cistern. That cistern then creates gravity pressure to supply our entire farm with electricity free potable Mtn spring water.
